After almost 2 years of struggling to get a reservation at the French Laundry, my wife and I finally got a confirmed booking 2 weeks ago. We were there for the 5:30 pm dinner service. Ambiance was homey and cozy. My comment was, the lighting was a bit too dimmed to read the fine print on the Set Menus priced at $240. There were only 2 choices for the Set Menus, 9 dishes plus 3-4 desserts...

Burj Al Arab is a luxury hotel located in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, which promotes itself as the world's first and only "7-star" property. This gorgeous building is the second tallest building in the world (1,050 ft) and it was designed to resemble a billowing sail. The hotel stands on an artificial island 920 ft out from the beach, and is connected to the mainland by a private bridge.

Where is the world’s most extreme public transportation service is located in? It can easily be assumed that in Norilsk city, Russia. Norilsk people say about themselves “We have seen snowings in June, our parents are going to the job in the column of the buses leaded and followed by special snow clearing machines, our city was built by prisoners, when we hear that the weather is going to be warmer it means it would be -10, and we don’t have any homeless - just none would survive at -54″. An autostereogram is an optical illusion of depth usually observed by allowing the eyes to focus behind an image (diverge), but also sometimes in front of the image (converge). These two methods are also known as wall-eyed and cross-eyed, respectively. I am 19, and with my family gene history, that means that I am just starting to hit puberty...
More accurately, it means I am at the point where I have just enough facial hair for it to be a pain in my ass, but not enough for me to do anything cool with (I look forward to the day when I can be moustachioed like Dali). The slow uneven growth rate of the hair, if left unchecked, will result in a fuzzy chin made up of a variety of hair lengths. The juxtaposition of hairs less than a centimeter in length with hairs over two inches in length makes for a really creepy look.
I have played with fire enough to know that it is a great way of removing hair, so I figured doing it intentionally for once might be a good change of pace, which is why I've started Fire Shaving.
I have no problem with shaving like a normal person, there are many things I do like a normal person. It is just sometimes I want a quick way to eradicate all the little hairs on my face without all the ceremonious procedures of a regular shaving.

The closest most of us 'round here will ever get to outer space is blogging about the Lunar X Prize, so our inner astronauts get rather giddy any time an amateur makes it to the cusp of the gravity well. The above photos were taken by the Meteotek team, a teacher and his four students from the IES La Bisbal school in Catalonia, Spain. The group designed and launched a balloon kitted out with a Nikon Coolpix and custom built electronics, intending to get some shots at 30,000 feet. Well exceeding their expectations, the $80 digicam (held aloft by a $60 latex balloon) reached over 100,000 feet, at which point it lost inflation and fell to the earth.
