“Waste Not” is a project by Chinese artist Song Dong presented in MoMA, New York.
The items composing “Waste Not” are all everyday objects that have been collected from his mother’s life, such as legless dolls, soap, bottles, pans, plates, tubs, and so on.
“Waste Not” – or wu jin qi gong in Chinese – is philosophical concept from China’s past, and security by means of collecting everyday objects was a requisite guideline for survival.
In our modernized society – especially in the highly consumerist culture of America – this lifestyle is quite difficult to imagine, as it is rooted in an era when many were lacking in material possessions.
Thus, the stark contrast posed by this piece at this year’s MoMA exhibition will be especially meaningful.

There was a soccer game on Saturday in Dublin between Ireland and France, a World Cup playoff game.
France won 1:0. The second game will take place in Paris on Wednesday.

A young blond Lexus driver parked her car on the tram rails in the downtown of Kiev, Ukraine.
Angry passengers almost kicked her ass when she came back 30 minutes later.

55-year-old Charla Nash became a victim of a chimpanzee attack at the beginning of this year.
She lost her nose, eyes and jaw as the crazed chimp almost ate her alive.
Her close friend's 200-pound ape, Travis, brutally mauled her after escaping the home he was raised in from infancy.
Travis' owner, Sandy Herold, used a butcher knife to stab the 14-year-old chimp, who was suffering from Lyme disease and had consumed Xanax - but the rampage only ended when cops shot the animal dead.
But somehow Charla managed to survive and now she showed her face at the Oprah Winfrey Show.
And it looks really scary. Poor woman. She hopes she will be able to see some day, but the doctors are not so optimistic.
It's Graphic. But it can't be too graphic if it was shown on Oprah.

This full-scale replica of a BMW X1 was made by 800 children aged between 5 and 13 years old and it took 4 days and approximately 165,000 LEGO bricks to complete.
