The first 3 seconds sums it up perfectly.

"This is crazy."

Why?

In a controlled environment with proper supervision, this child will learn skills involving precision, consistency, and focus. She will learn patience as well. When I was a competitive / target shooter, my then GF's 7 year old son went with me to the range anytime I was just plinking. He not only enjoyed a day of target shooting, but I never had any worries of him being a tragic addition to the accidental firearm death statistic. In my mind, her getting a rifle is no different than buying a kid a new fielders glove to help them make Pillar like catches in the outfield or a new hockey stick to help them rip one into the top shelf.

At 15 I was a marksman at indoor rifle and outdoor rifle, using a .303 Lee Enfield. Bloody loved it. Guns don't kill people... people do
