One of my cats likes to leap up onto the back of my office chair, and from there onto the desk. The other day, I might have moved my arm or turned the chair, not realizing she was about to leap - she doesn't always go for it right away, sometimes she'll just chill on the headrest for awhile - and she undershot and cracked her chin really good on the edge of the desk, flipped around, and then casually tried to walk away like she planned it.
She was okay, though, as far as I could tell.
Actually, this reminds me of an interesting anecdote I read last night: it is a common fallacy that people assume cats always land safely on their feet. They're certainly equipped to do so from higher distances, but short falls (2 to 3 floors) tend to have less than positive results.
