Should probably show this video to a few American police officers who seem to think that shooting unarmed black men is their only option.

This what police do in the UK. They act in favour of all individuals then if needed use tasers, only using firearms as a LAST resort in high profile situations, not just opening fire first ask questions later. This is also why our police are respected world wide and unfortunately US officers aren't. Your gun culture says so much.

So true. In Ireland officers dont have guns, and similarly to UK they are respected rather than feared.

Not that the U.S. doesn't suck when it comes to violent crime whether perpetrated by the police or not, but the violent crime rate is worse in England and Wales than in the U.S. The difference is more pronounced when the U.K. rate is compared to areas in the U.S. where gun ownership is more common. For example, the crime rate in New Hampshire, where gun ownership is very common, is much lower, but in Chicago where gun laws are very strict, the rate is higher than the U.K. That's info I gained from one quick Google search: "is crime worse in the u.k. than the u.s?"

The stats you quote are not comparable. In the UK more actions are defined as crimes than the US. So petty crimes which are ignored in US statistics are included in the UK, which make up the majority of the crimes.
If you compare individual crimes between the 2, the US ALWAYS scores more than the UK. Infact the US has almost 4 times the murder rate compared to the UK.
This applies to a lot of statistics. For example the unemployment figure of the US cannot be compared with any other nation as the US has a different definition for being classified as unemployed.
Please spend more than 30s on google if you are going to try to make a valid point.

UK police officers don't usually carry firearms you mook. They had no other choice than to use less than lethal force. This time it worked in their favor

There you are quite mistaken about my position. I am more in favor of gun control than anyone I know. At the same time, I feel law enforcement officers have one of the hardest jobs in the world: protect and serve someone who may be trying to kill you.
The f*cking psycho in this video is not just an immediate threat to the officers, he's a serious threat to the public, now and in the future. Had it not been for the video, it's likely this guy's lawyer would have been able to mitigate any perceived danger he posed. Someone who acts with such willful malevolence has an extreme disregard for human life, yet he would have shortly been returned to live among his unsuspecting neighbors, on the highways, at the grocery store, in theaters.

You saw 15 seconds of his life and base your judgement on that. We know nothing about this guy. It seemed to me when he was caught he realised his mistakes and accepted responsibility. I do not think he will go around grocery stores trying to do the same thing. I mean he hadnt done it up to then so why should he? He probably had the worst day of his life or was on some drugs etc. Most of the world is not like the US, people dont go shooting up cinemas, schools, churches etc. The officers did exactly what they should have done and done it well.

Again, I substantiate my opinion based on his actions, even though we only saw a few seconds of the violence of which he is capable. If you see a man stab an innocent baby to death in a 15-second video, would you not pass the same judgment? Of course you would. I don't care if he "had the worst day of his life or was on some drugs." What kind of excuse is that to commit murder? Would you tell that to their family and loved ones?
And once he was caught he "accepted responsibility"? That's some major bullsh*t. Forget that he just nearly committed an extremely violent act on 2 law enforcement officers. He's now back to being a responsible citizen!
