Because that seems like a logical punishment .... waste $300 dollars... I'm sure the kid didn't pay for it. Congrats, you're a shit parent.

Well, if the kid was on the xbox 24/7 rather than doing school work its a fair punishment.

However, filming it and putting it online are the sign of a shit parent. Or a fake.

I would do the same. Sorry.
I spent lots of time playing and working with my father. But I never, never had a bad grade. Why? Because my father would make worst than this. So I just pay enough attention at school to that never happens to me. My atari have now 25years and my Nintendo nes 28years. They are in my house now, and every weekend I play with my 2 years old girl.
It's sad, but sometimes the thought way is the only thing to educate thoose little bastards wich think they can do what they want

Yeah.... uh... No. Destroying something you paid money for is not a "fair punishment". Like LewisJones said, how about sell it....or give it to a kid who isn't an idiot and deserves it.
