He does what he is supposed to do. Moose are notoriously aggressive and will charge. He shouts and makes himself big. The moose charged anyway, he escalated force and survived. The video stops shortly after he shoots. Since he was armed and followed the recommended actions for defense it is more than likely he returned and put the moose down after he moves to a safe distance. Since the cuddley feely crowd is jumping to conclusions lets assume that he is miles away from help and he has someone behind him, perhaps his kid. What did you expect him to do, pet it into submission? At that point it's simple- put the moose down or die. Now, go feed the ducks like the little trooper you are.

I completely agree, no we don't want to see a animal suffer BUT that moose could have easily killed him. Also there was another person with him, what if it was his kid? Now i don't agree with letting the moose suffer and i can only hope he did the right thing and went back to humanly kill him. He did a proper escalation of force.

I would really like to see the ones who are against killing the moose to face one in their own arena.
