If I'm not mistaken, people who try F1 cars for the first time are saying their most striking quality isn't the speed, however impressive it is, but the braking.

Neherson... Mansell talks about that in his bio; turbo era=massive Gs pushing you back vs. carbon disk brakes era=massive Gs pushing you forward.

Reminds me of when a Top Gear presenter (pro driver) got in an F1 for the first time and couldn't even get the tyres up to working temperature.

You HAVE to go fast in an F1 car . otherwise you'll crash! Downforce needs fast speed, which will keep you safe. Go slow and you're off track and die!
