Not a two-gauge. Its a punt gun, essentially a over-sized shotgun that fires a full pound of shot.

Actually, it's a two-gauge punt gun. Two-gauge means that two lead balls the diameter of the barrel weigh one pound.

A punt gun was mounted to a punt, which is a type of small boat, and used for shooting dozens of ducks or geese at once while they were on the water. Not very sporting, but for some, hunting wasn't sport -- it was food and/or income. :79:
