Touareg has one of the highest torque ratings of any production car. Top Gear used one to pull a Boeing 747 across the tarmac. The result is no surprise really.

Not entirely surprising. VW demonstrated a Touareg towing a Boeing 747 to show off how good a tow vehicle it was.

Touareg's torque is 553 at 2000 RPM (that's impressive) + its a 10 cylinder + it is AWD. As for the Chevy, I don't know its specs but it is lifted and probably empty from behind so it would lose to almost any car with decent torque.

Put the Chevy into 4 wheel drive and it's a different ball game. The Toureg is an all wheel drive thus 2 times the traction.
