agree... I've been chased and barked at as a kid a lot, a not just by stray dogs, and I still love dogs. I have a hard time walking by a stray dog but this IS extreme... poor guy.

Doesn't look legitimate at all. Notice how he's holding his own hand when he's about to touch the puppy.
Left hand: "You can do it, right hand! You can do it!"
Right hand: "No! No! Please don't force me to! Let me go! Nooooo!!!"
I know it's an exaggeration but it really does seem like he was over-dramatizing his fear to sell his acting. I know that if I were scared of something, I'd retain my hand's freedom of movement in case I have to quickly retract.
