i was in a similar situation, is was driving a stick shift Volkswagen T4 Bus, and the back gear stayed in even when i put in 2nd forward (1st gear and backward gear were nearly the same position, the difference was to push the stick to use the back gear)... then after 3 tries and only a few centimeters left to go back it worked and drove forward...

i dont understand why the girl drove that far back to crash the black car.... but a lot strange things happen these days... my female cousin just got her drivinglicense 2 months ago and she already made 3 bumps into the car of her parents and destroyed 2 sets of wheels so much that they had to get new ones (she doesnt know how to get around the corners, she ALWAYS hits the sidewalks. every single time). i am sure that there are a lot of girls like her and like the one in the white car....
