if the water was a foot shallower they would have made it. the engine air intake is just behind the cab. keep it uncovered and you're sorted.

i don't think they are stupid for coming there to try to help. looks like they had a few people they already rescued and were trying to leave to me... but i don't know the whole story.

I don't know what happened, but when there's trouble you do everything you can.. or at least try, which is exactly what these guys did... I don't think they're stupid at all.
