I've always heard that streamlined underwater swimming is faster, but I thought this was illegal, I read somewhere that there is a rule stating that you can only swim underwater for 15 meters or something!
Anyway, this is proof that it really IS faster!

If it was against the rules the anouncer would have said something. I doubt any athlete would make a catastrophic mistake so obviously there is no limit on how long one can stay under.
