Pavlov's theory only works on animals with measurably lower intelligence than the tester. We'll suspend the fact Pavlov's experiment only stresssed a reward (food), and not pain, when the test subjects heard the trigger sound.
If his room mate had half a brain, when he heard "that was easy" he would have shot his buddy back with his own airsoft gun. That would have been a true experiment on the efficacy of being an unfunny dickhead.
