That was a plainclothes security guard hired for the G20 summit by private businesses in downtown TO. Check out his gun holsters

I am not buying the security guy thing. I do think that it's cool that someone stepped in and did what was right. Jimmy I think he has a Man bag of some sort plus his 80's style dressy t shirt with designs on the arm pit and shoulder area make it look like he is wearing a gun.....but he is not...if he had a gun it would be more concealed as he was in casual clothes. I watched the video 10 times to be sure because you are and have been pretty observant but watch it again and you will see it is the pattern of his shirt and the strap from the manbag that give the illusion of a holster.

plus he tosses whatever it was that the guy tried to steal back into the store.

Ty Webb - It's just undone from the front to make it appear less obvious. The strap across the back of the neck will keep the holster from coming off the body because it also wraps under the arms. Look again.

looks like a good samaritan to me (tho hard to know for sure since they're an endangered species)
