Unimpressive. Even setting aside their government's extreme authoritarian tendencies, including bullying, thuggery, censorship, human rights abuses, murder, and many, many other criminal activities, Russians are currently some of the cheatingest motherf*ckers on Earth, especially in sport.

This, in part, is why the degenerate behavior of Lance Armstrong (and others) gave America a giant black eye. Who the f*ck are we to criticize other countries for doping when he was such an immaculate cunt?

One could argue that Armstrong wasn’t actually “state sponsored”, until you realize that, technically, he was, by the US Postal Service.

The US anti-doping investigated Armstrong and US DOJ send him to trial for fraud.

Russia never did something like that. Western companies cancel sponsorship contracts, Russian companies give jobs to cheaters. Putin apologized to the cheaters because he couldn't hide them better.

No Western country does something like this

While not directly responsible for Armstrong's bad behavior, many companies, including the USPS and Nike, continued to sponsor him long after serious allegations of abuse were disclosed. His response was to attack the US anti-doping agency heads as incompetent buffoons out to get him, and threatened to have his fans boycott Nike, should they cut him off.

This is just the tip of the iceberg. He was seen as such a god in the sport that he was able to bully and intimidate his racing teammates, and gave them the ultimatum to juice-up so they could measure up to his pace, or drop out. He then martyred himself on testicular cancer, the cause of which was quite possibly the very drugs he was using to cheat, in order to garner support from the public and pressure sponsors to keep him on the payroll.

During all this time he continued to rake in millions through this repugnant extortion combined with the sales of his book. Though I have no evidence to support it, I would not be surprised in the least to learn he faked the cancer. It was a brilliant career move.

Again, while not explicitly condoning his cheating, the US is clearly culpable for enabling him to continue his disgraceful abuses for so long.
