They were obtained by ABC News after it filed a Freedom of Information Act request last year with the National Institute of Standard and Technology.

I agree with Patty

These people fighting over thier meaningless little theories here have missed the entire point

It doesn't really fucking matter who's technically responsible at this point either- those who were killed in this tragedy are already dead and they're not coming back based on who's fault the attack was.

Random - Let me get this straight. You're knocking people here that have something to say about 9/11... And they're missing the point?

Are you fucking serious? Since we can't bring people back from the dead, the only thing that matters is finding out whio is "technically" responsible. I hope talking out of your ass isn't your day job.

1) Jimmy Johnson,
9/11 was an inside job
Without definitive evidence, this cannot be stated as fact, regardless of any possibility.
2) jasonx,
Bush was either an idiot or a genius mastermind. Which is it?
Bush was a figurehead. President's seldom make any decisions without consulting advisers, who are considered experts & therefore said opinions are given considerable weight.
3) Jimmy Johnson
Just go to 911truth.org. What are you afraid of...
While your point is valid, your wording supports jasonx's ""Peer pressure dare tactics" comment.
4) Jimmy johnson
News is about money, not information
No disagreement here; I just wanted to reaffirm for those who may not realize: Your evening news does not exist because the government wants to keep you informed - it exists because Neilson says people will watch, so advertisers buy spots. And the news you actually get to see? Investigate for yourself the political affiliations of the operators of "fair and balanced" Fox News (Yes, I'm being sarcastic).
5) Jimmy Johnson
i believe the truth will come out through one simple experiment
One simple experiment will not prove anything. Not all conditions can be reproduced exactly, and even if they could, that does not conclusively prove that's what happened on 9/11.
6) Elightened Unfortunately, that horror is part of the human psyche; we will never be able to filter it out entirely without filtering out people themselves from this beautiful planet.
7) Joao Pedro Yes, wars do create money; it seems that many US citizens aren't aware of their own history and the bullshit politicians have used against the public to wage wars in the past. For those interested in a specific provable example, google/wiki the Mexican American war & pay special attention to the methods used to garner public support.

As for my own opinion on the subject, I do think there is enough evidence to support an investigation. But without one, this falls under "argument from ignorance". Before I get flamed, please R&U that term.
And while I'm at it, I think the best way to garner support for a specific view is to provide information, or access to that information. Simply stating"this is fact", or "you are wrong", does nothing to sway anyone's opinion.

bored at work - I disagree with several points you've made...

1. There is difinitive evidence, if you care to look and do your own research. That's why I keep repeating myself for disbelievers to visit 911truth.org.

2. The skyscraper collapse experiment holds validity in the sense we can measure whether it can collapse at free-fall speed as WTC did. Or whether the skyscraper demolished can actually fall into it's own footprint like WTC, instead of pancaking or toppling over.

3. Whether the impact alone could cause the structure to collapse. There have been other incidents of plane crashes and fires in skyscrapers with steel form construction in other parts of the world and they did not collapse. So this condition alone, is telling.

4. It cost $500 million (adjusted dollars) to build WTC Towers in 1970. By 2000, WTC Towers required more than a billion dollars in upgrades and maintenance costs. Tell me if that isn't a damn good reason to just demolish them? Didn't the lease holder of the property end up with a huge insurance settlement? Condo construction projects go up in flames under auspicous circumstances for shady developers to cash in on the insurance. Why is this not a possibilty for WTC Towers?

picklini, I hope you do not think that it is bad to have a b'day on 9/11 there were many examples of incredible acts of kindness bravery and sacrifice. Think of that on your birthday

I am glad to see all of you debating with opinions facts and theory as opposed to empty banter or just dumb ass smiley faces and the like.

I am not kidding there were some very good points made by all. My take on 9/11 is that there is more to the story than 2 planes hitting and the towers fall. Someone planted explosives to take the towers out. I have no idea who. It could have been our government to get the public behind a war that defense companies were going to make billions on. It could have been the terrorists and it was covered up to avoid a panic or to keep our security measures and the ones that are responsible for national security from looking like they lost control of our borders and those who infiltrate them.

Jimmy Johnson,
1) I have visited 911truth, and I stand by my statement - I found no definitive evidence that it was an inside job. Care to provide a single one?
2-3) I understand that there are various things we can measure & compare against what happened to the towers, but you miss the point: One experiment does not prove anything- and many only suggest correlation, not causation. Just because it rained the day after I washed my car does not mean washing my car causes rain- even if it happens every time.
4) The so-called terrorists also had a motive; supplying an alternative motive scenario does not make any other motive less viable.

wikipedia:
The two most common forms of the argument from ignorance, both fallacious, can be reduced to the following form:

* Something is currently unexplained or insufficiently understood or explained, so it is not (or must not be) true.
* Because there appears to be a lack of evidence for one hypothesis, another chosen hypothesis is therefore considered proven.

The irony here, Jimmy, is that I fully agree that there are plenty of suspicious facts and circumstances that would raise the eyebrows of any reasonable person. However, the best you've done is provide a link to a website of people who share the same view. Isn't that like telling someone who doesn't believe in god to "just read the bible"?

bored at work - You obviously only took a cursory look at 911truth.org as if that would somehow provide some ephinany that would leap off the screen to claw your eyeballs out. I only provide that ONE site as an example. There are hundreds of sites challenging 9/11. Typical...

There is a seperate petition on 911.org signed by civil, structural, and other engineers that have provided their vast experience and analysis to contradict the way the WTC Towers fell.. I'm sure you took a good look at the evidence presented.

We're not talking about rain... So to suggest a contolled demolition of a structure with similar constuction, under the same circumstances won't yield quantifiable evidence is ludicrous.

You're right... The so called terrorists did have a motive. MONEY. Huge sums of it by waging war for the Miitary Industrial Complex. There is no viable industry in the US except for weapons. If you think the US auto industry is doing so great, then go ask for your refund.

Nothing else except food, and industry related to it's production, is being made in the US... It's too easy to get a 10 year old in some Asian backwater slum to assemble running shoes or computer parts than to pay union wages in the US. God forbid, that would triple the cost and piss off the shareholders.

I can see this discussion is really just going to end up being a pissing match, so I'll leave it to your own devices (and level of comprehension) to see the events of 9/11 the way you want to - through rose colored glasses.

Why don't we just continue to argue over this and let the people who caused this abomination further divide the country? You sit there behind a computer screen hurling insults and measuring dicks over who has the most intelligence while the evil doers sit there and laugh at the mayhem they've accomplished. Congratulations, you've played right into part of their plan. As soon as any enemy succeeds in dividing the victims, all they have left to do is conquer. We're already divided enough as a nation on several issues, why tack on one more?

Sometimes I think we're all so worried about holding the title of being "right" in this world that we forget to consider what's really important. Stick together, and stop bitching and pointing fingers at each other like a bunch of little kids. Maybe then we can progress faster as a nation whenever we're in time of need.
