The owners of poodles are lucky.
On one hand they have very cute and intelligent dogs.
And on the other, their dogs can be easily transformed into a panda, a camel and even Jack Sparrow.

"That is just sick, like little girl beauty contests. What a nasty thing to do to innocent dogs"

My thoughts exactly. Why make these poor dogs go through something completely unnatural. Of course Ms Groomer up there is gonna say it's great and the dogs dont mind, because she's earning a shit load of money for turning dogs into some warped idea of beauty. Dogs are beautiful without a ton full of crap on them, just like humans are. And the sooner we humans deal with that the better. Don't drag innocent animals into beauty parlours, they have no clue what they are there for. Spend your money on getting them nice food or something they can appreciate, I can gurantee they don't appreciate being made to look a prize pillock!

Those dogs don't even realize what has been done to them (my opinion).
They ought to be treated with respect though and altering their appearance ridiculously is not respecting the animal. If you want a panda, buy a panda; if you want a horse, buy a horse; if you want a camel, buy a camel- let the dog be a dog.

@ Alisa Um, you do know that you can't just 'buy a panda' like you could a horse or even a camel if you had the money - even the ones in the National Zoo in DC are only on loan from China...

@Roes :) actually, I do dye my hair over and over again, and it totally would be unnatural colors and unusual styles if the dress code didn't allow it. I do, however, agree that the people who have the time both to think up and execute these ideas really need to find another hobby...

I thought these were very creative indeed. I was especially impressed with the "peacock." There are some very talented groomers out there. I've never met a dog that didn't enjoy a good brush, and individual time with a handler. Some seem to find these pics demeaning and cruel, but being in the grooming biz myself for a time, i found standard poodles to be remarkably well behaved, loving and enjoyed their time on the spa table "looking pretty." :)
