People (both men and women) gain weigh as they get older not necessarily because they stop carrying about self or about the partner, but simply because they have other more important things to attend to, things like family or jobs...

this is why we all need to find a spouse that we love to be with because once you really love and love to be with that person the weight will not be a big deal except that you worry about the health problems not how good she looks in a bikini. IMHO

This is why you date ..no marriage until 30, no long terms ,no kids 'til 35.
most women who look good young but have unhealthy habbits, will display them by age 30.. also this way, you weed out those that have no goals in life, other than to find a guy to take care of them, and it gives you time to get your shit together by the time the family thing becomes your main thing...
the only downfall, that many 30 plus women may be damaged by the a-holes they dated up to that point...so one would have to thread carefully...
