Wow, please do some research before posting stuff. While very tall and skinny, Manute did not suffer from any forms of giganitism. Manute was a product of his genes, just being exceptionally tall in a tribe of very tall people. Manute is still alive, although he is currently having skin and kidney issues due to a reaction to medications he took. As far as his basketball playing skills. He was a very talented defender, who blocked shots like very few others could. Although he had a talent for rebounding, he was often outrebounded due to his slight stature for his height, leading to him being "boxed out" easily by huskier center's. He moved around to several teams, because of the fact that he was a good defender, and teams trying to make a championship run, could use him in the middle for a low price.
