I've eaten a few strange things in my life, but man.. Surströmming fermented herring, some swedish "delicacy". The smell alone is enough to make a lot of people puke, only a few dares tasting it. I tried it just to show who's the tough guy, but instantly regretted it, i had a stormy vomit. You can't imagine its horror until you try it.

I was given some surströmming by a Swede because it was a national dish that all visitors just had to try. I tasted it with the tip of my tongue and even that was nearly vomit-inducing. Fortunately I had a shot of akvavit to rinse out my mouth.
I asked him and over the next two weeks several others and none of them would touch the sh*t.

So instead of just letting the maggots from the chocolate dissolve in their stomach acids they thought it was better to have them pass through their mouths again?
