A heliograph is a wireless solar telegraph that allows people to create signals using flashes of sunlight, and heliographs look absolutely incredible.

there are 2 types of heliographs
the ones pictured above are for measuring sunlight duration, Campbell–Stokes heliographs

there is also another type for communication (telegraphy), which is basically mirror with some sort of aiming aid and shutter, that one is not in this gallery (because looks boring)
