Winson Green in Birmingham was taken over by 600 inmates for 12 hours after the used a dirty syringe to threaten a guard and get his keys. The prisoners took over due to a lack of TV and gym time, and it took 300 officers dressed in riot gear using paint and fire hoses to get the prison back under control.
