Kids in Romania that are as young as 11 years old are working long 13 hour shifts for very little pay to make Kinder Eggs toys for Ferrero. They work in poor conditions, and the work is being compared to slave labor.

They work from age 11 for 13 hours/day without employment papers?
Remember that Ferrero doesn't have these kids on their evidence as employees.

This was just reported by The Sun newspaper, so it's an ongoing investigation.
I bet it's the usual ... Ferrero buying things from suppliers who buy things from their suppliers ... and so on.

It is the parents who take the job, but who use their children to help them.

In a country with the economic opportunities of Romania, the whole family pitches in or ...they don't eat. Pretty easy to comdemn from a lofty position of advantage.

These kids work at home, obviously helping their parents to earn some extra money for the family. Since when is this called slavery?
