An anonymous group known only as Luzinterruptus, recently carried out a special project in Toronto. They took one of Toronto's busiest streets, and turned it into a river of 10,000 books. It took 50 volunteers 12 days to fill up the busy city street, but it was clearly time well spent.

Nice effort, but what was the point in doing that?

Imagine what 50 volunteers could do in 12 days to address the concerns of the homeless.

How is that "time well spent"?
Wasted time / money / effort gathering the books.
Wasted for the poor city cleanup crews that have to pick up their thing.
Wasted effort disposing of all the books.
All for what, again?

How the hell is this time well spent? These 12 people should have directed their efforts somewhere useful, or at least relevant.

Well, its called art. Not my kinda thing but if we want to start talking about pointless things and time badly spent we should probably talk about the time spent posting comments on pointless posts that make no difference whatsoever.
