I mean ideologically, most of these people are different than myself, but they're still my countrymen, still my neighbors.... maybe that's what I like about America? 51

This is not a clear picture of America. These are more redneck shots than anything else. Our country is diverse. It would take thousands of pics to CORRECTLY show ''ordinary" America. We are a melting pot of every country on the planet. We have huge cities, farm lands desert forrests prairies mountains valleys beaches and a picture of only one type of nationality or geo location cannot and does not represent ordinary America.

There is only one picture that can even remotely represent America and that would be a blank canvas. We as a society in general are always changing. Changing for the good bad and the ugly.

I don't find it sad at all...I thought it was kind of a good representation of normal people in normal photos..a little bit country for sure, but still nice photos. Something different from kissy face myspace photos and Walmart wierdos.

I would have to agree with Fred, this is more redneck then anything else. You'd have to go outside these areas in order to really get a clear picture.

Definitely not ordinary American. Maybe ordinary redneck culture in the south and midwest.

If you did one called 'ordinary California' (or Arizona, or New Mexico, or Texas) it's be 80% Hispanics and blacks.

Perhaps by ordinary he meant: "Lets roll through some trailerparks with a camera and take some pictures in an attempt to be provocative".

Oh come on, America is a colorful land, you have all type of people there and many, many beliefs. What is relevant is the fact that America has allot of fat people, allot of mental disorders, many diseases, many natural disasters, many polluting systems and so on. And until 2009 they were lead by a monkey. That's the real America. And almost everybody loves their country, they would die in wars for the love of good ol' America. Only the smart ones moved out of that dumpster of the world. I cannot remember one good thing in the past 20 years that America provided for the world. I am not saying that they didn't do that, just I cannot remember...

Fred Finizzi's right

I'm an American too, and this is not a completely accurate representation of our entire country- yes, there is a lot of this shit here, as pictured above, but it's certainly not ALL this country is.

Not all of us are religious freaks ( I don't follow any religion, personally) knocked- up teenagers (although there are too many people having kids too young, but that's not just in America,) or whitetrash fatasses....

There is poverty in the USA like everywhere else. Notice how people keep saying "redneck" Americans have a hard time dealing with class issues. We are used to deal with "race" issues as a replacement for "class" issues. actually there is even worse as far as poverty in the USA. Not as a large poor segment as other countries but nevertheless an ironic for the most powerful country in the world.
