China Completes The World's Largest Radio Telescope (6 pics)

Construction on the world's largest radio telescope began back in 2011 in Guizhou Province in southwest China. After 5 years of construction is now complete and astronomers plan to use the telescope to observe objects at a distance of 11 billion light years from Earth.

They've copied Arecibo Observatory.

Personally, I'd like to chuck a ball around the rim and see
how long it takes to spiral to the middle.

no, they actually designed it to be larger and better. Arecibo is very old.
