Dude, if you don't want a dog, don't get a dog. You don't have to be a dick about it.

Anyway, I bet within a year he's doting on the thing. Happened to a mate of mine. His dad was dead set against getting a cat, his mum had to sneak one into the house. When dad found out, not at all impressed. Six months later, when he thought no-one was looking, he was spotted with the cat on his lap fussing over him.
