What's yukky (enough to blow your head off, apparently) about having a supportive family? I'll bet this doesn't happen to most kids on account of some people still being closed-minded and bigoted in the year 2016.

Bashing someone for being homophobic is also being closed minded. People should also have the freedom to disagree without fear of attack. This period of so called enlightenment we are living in seems to have missed that. I honestly can't think of a way that homosexuality affects my personal life and yet when I'm confronted with it I feel unnerved by it. But hey, I guess that's just how I was Born. And I'm not going to apologize for it or be rendered obsolete for following my instincts. I do, however, do my best to treat everyone as equally as I can and would hope to be treated in kind and not pasted with negativity for my core beliefs. That would be reverse bigotry. As for this post, I think it's awesome that she has so much love and support. She is truly blessed that way.

wow. Justifying bigotry and homophobia. No. bashing someone for homophobia is exactly what people need to do. Being accepting of such an awful way of thinking is wrong and needs to stamped out. "accepting" homophobia is exactly the same as encouraging it.

There should have been a huge sign: Kinzey, congratulations - we weren't at all surprised!
And then for snacks for the party have little pieces of carpet to munch.

It's yukky because why make such a big deal of it?! The parents are making it into a 'thing' rather than just accepting it and moving on...
