if communism is for the proletariat then why does this seem to happen so often? I'm not saying the U.S. is better, or that communism is bad, but Russia and China, and even to a small extent Cuba, are notorious for this kind of thing. am I confused or are they? 51

the only difference between communism and democracy is that u cant complain to the authority if u are miss treated.

Make sure you guys click on that link provided by Acidcow above these pics- that site shares the stories of some of these people.

There aren't even any words for this....

As a spoiled American I have to say that I have been fortunate enough ( understatement!) to never have seen anything like this before in real life.
I sincerely hope that each and every one of these people & thier children who have been tortured to death & died for thier families & thier beliefs get nothing but the best of everything in thier next life. This is beyond tragic : (

Seeing these at first made me think that I am lucky to live in a Country where this kind of thing does not happen. But BENGA makes an excellent and very true point... it does happen here in the USA . Maybe it does not happen out in the open like in China but it does happen. I would even go so far as to say that when it happens in China one has a better chance of living after the attack. In the USA there is a greater chance that you will be killed after or even at the time as an attack. The reason is the very thing that I used to think made America so great and that is accountability. If you are abused in the US you have options. You can sue or report the abuse and the abusers will face criminal charges and penalties so if they attack a citzen and think they may face charges they are more likely to kill the attack-ee so the attack is never reported. In china you get beat or tortured and that is that..they are allowed to abuse their citizens in the name of the greater good of China so it ends right there.
