The Freedom Tower opened on November 3, 2014 and it is the fourth largest skyscraper in the world. The building is impressive to look at, but perhaps the most impressive thing about it is that it stands as a symbol of hope for anyone who lost a loved one on September 11, 2001.

This is the second time now where they've (purposely?) falsely posted this as "The Freedom Tower". It was officially named "One World Trade Center" in 2009, seven years ago, and that's what it's always been called. The project itself was nicknamed "The Freedom Tower" when building it, but they did not go with that name because they figured it would rub non-Americans the wrong way for some reason. And it would have, as evidenced by the last time this was falsely posted here as "Freedom Tower":

Honestly, it feels like these things are done on purpose to give people another fabricated reason to gripe about us, much like the "Guns n' flags!" posts, often the same few photos taken out of context and recycled over and over again. And I can almost guarantee there'll be a few who'll just read the title, take the bait, skip my post here, and just run right ahead ahead to make the usual 'lol Murica freedoms!" comments because Acidcow gave them the wrong information again. I do enjoy this site, but this kind of bullsh*t happens way too much.

Freedom Tower? It basically stands for the exact opposite, as Americans essentially lost their freedom to the collapse of the twin towers....

(hehe, after reading your post MWarrior I had to write something :P)

What's this? What's this??? A reasonable poster on the internet? I'll say again, faith in humanity not restored - nor will it ever be - but firm belief of it's imminent, hastened, and painful demise somewhat mitigated. Somewhat.
