After posting these pictures this person said they were nervous during their flight. If you looked out your airplane window and saw this sight you would get pretty nervous too.

It's just to hold a simple cap, nothing vital.
Now, if the wing joints would be duct taped, then that would be scary.

Everything can be fixed by using duct tape or WD-40. If not, you shouldn't even attempt to fix it.
