Some people should probably just stay away from technology forever.

Wordstar hasn't been sold for 20-25 years. Does somebody out there still actually use it and require tech support?

You would be surprised. Think low-income housing areas where the businesses are equally low-tech. Back when Windows 7 was just hitting the market, I was troubleshooting for a fellow who just couldn't get his Windows 7 disc to be read on his computer which he swore was up to date because he had kept up with all the updates.

When Windows 98 greeted me at start up, I knew what the problem was.

He still couldn't figure it out.

Sometimes we lol at the things we, as IT Professionals, know are obvious. But people sometimes don't have the experience or education to know those things. That's why we should have patience with our customers and help as much as we can.

...and then laugh about it: Once a lady was mad at me 'cause I told her to close all the windows and she didn't think closing the windows or the curtains would help to resolve the issue.
