Otto Warmbier, a 21-year-old University of Virginia student was sentenced to 15 years hard labor by a North Korean court recently. Otto was there on a trip when he attempted to steal a political sign and bring it home. Otto says his church back home offered him money for the sign which is why he took it. He was arrested back in January while he was boarding his plane and now he will serve 15 years in a North Korean prison with hard labor.

Well, while the punishment is harsh, how stupid do you have to be to try steal something there?
And i dont buy the part about the church wanting to buy it....

Who the hell goes on holiday to North Korea FFS!!?? SO many beautiful peaceful wonderful places in this world, and he chooses to go there.

Guy seems a bit of a twerp to be honest, then taking a poster. Now he has ended up as a political pawn.

Although being a terrible country in what freedom is concerned, their punishments are so harsh that criminality is close to non-existant.
Unlike the "evolved" countries, where people get killed on crosswalks and the driver does no jail time.

My house, my rules.
If you don't abide by my rules, you suffer the consequences. Don't like it? GTF out of my house.

So ... anyone visiting another country must be aware of their laws. If you're not, you're stupid.
