I am lucky. I have a Pug that is turning 3 in april and she joined my family when she was about 4 months old. She has been left alone in the house a few times and never chewed anything up, never made a mess ...ever.

She did however get one of my pain medication patches and had to be rushed to the Emerg Vet because this medicine has been known to kill humans and she is about 1/14th the size of an average person. She really gave me a scare...drooling falling over going limp... man I get the shakes just thinking about it as she is my life now not a pet. She is a family member not a dog. I wanted a big dog the rest of the family wanted a small one. When we met Molly we all agreed she was the one. I expected i was going to like her and become somewhat atached. I never expected that she would be just as important to me as any human ever was...or will ever be to me.

Sorry. talk talk talk....blah blah blah......My point was this. She is and always was a well behaved pug. I never had to clean up after her other than grooming her as needed.

I hate when they open the garbage. HATE IT.
But I can take the paper toilet; way much easy to clean.

Sheeeeesh! I just remembered when I got up the one morning, the dogs slept in the house because of a storm... Saw little bits of sponge everywhere, kept thinking "I don't have a green sponge..." When I walked into the lounge, there was a big-ass hole in my couch!!!! Then I discovered the little bits of TV remote lying all over the place!

LOL, aww naughty doggies ; )'

My husband & I have two boxers that we got as tiny puppies- only once have they ever REALLY messed up the house when left alone.
My little girl pup ( we have a brother & sister pair,) somehow managed to crawl over the babygate & proceeded to drink a little bit of milk that was left in a glass on the table, ( I know, gross, but I was running late that morning & didn't have time to clean up...) which made her puke- while she was running apparently- all over our new couch!

Then she tore up some papers & left the pieces strew all over the place-lol-all we could do when we got home was laugh though : ) She seemed so pleased with herself, and her brother just looked embarassed, still being a good boy in his little pen ; )'

Like Fred up there was saying, they are our babies- we love them as our children, no matter what- they really are what makes up our family & I love them so much!

#8....looks like the animals didn't do that. Maybe they were rescused from those horrible conditions. My dogs will tear anything up. One has to be caged when we're gone.

As Fred said, they are members of our family and should be treated like one. Even if they like to create a mess :)
