Fact is, they robbed him. Not because he was white, but because he had money. If they just beat him up and left him then maybe it was racist assault, but they did take the money. So they were criminals, yes, but racist?

Put it this way: If he had no money, he most likely would not have been attacked. So, not a racist assault, but a mugging. Simple. No need to bring colour into this to blow everything out of proportion...
