A man in the urban district of Qinhuangdao, China decided to try his luck by running across a frozen lake. Unfortunately for him the ice cracked and he fell through. A number of concerned citizens along with the police rushed to rescue the man. They threw him a scarf and then used the scarf to drag him in a save him from drowning.

This is proper technique for saving a person from a thin ice incident.

As the earth gets colder in the coming grand solar minimum, bodies of water will freeze which had never frozen in human memory before.

Don't walk towards obvious thin ice. Get a rope, and if pressed, used your scarf.

Don't fall into freezing water or you could die quickly as well.
