China is trying to combat the pollution and smog in the air by using these special guns. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to be making much of a difference.

My guess is that they shoot the water so dust particles in the air cling to the water droplets and then fall to the ground still attached to the droplet.

Sooo... they're combating smog by creating acid rain? I'm sure that won't backfire on them at all.
