16 reminds me of something that happened about a week ago. I was attending a babyshower party and when it came time for the expecting mother to open her presents she also started reading the cards and letters people gave her. One of her young cousins (12 or 13) was looking over her shoulder and suddenly said in an amazed voice: "You can read cursive?!"
It was so funny! The girl couldn't have been more amazed if the note was written in chinese. Though now that I think about it, it's also sad. In a few years no kid will even recognize cursive when they see it.

Oh, and #6 he was absolutely right. They were a stone-age culture; everywhere else in history they'd have just been exterminated/assimilated. Don't get me wrong, they were really badly treated by the US, but it was still better than indigenous people got pretty much anywhere else, ever.
