WOW! Leave it to a bunch of arrogant pricks who fancy themselves as scientists to tell me I really don't like my eggs the way I like my eggs. I actually like them scrambled, but if I'm eating them boiled, 8-10 minutes is plenty done for me. 74

I prefer a runny yolk. 3 - 5 minutes is good for me.

Coddled eggs:

1. Put eggs in a bath of warm water and set aside.
2. Boil water.
3. Place eggs gently in boiling water.
4. Turn off the heat under the water.
5. Like OldOllie says, cook them the way like YOU like them! I'm and 8-10 minute guy, myself.

My wife prefers 15 minutes, if you know what I mean. Hard boiled, indeed.

Bake them 320 for 30 mins, then cold-water = perfect, and less bother than boiling.

Pro tip: use a muffin tin to hold the eggs while baking and they won't roll around.
