The photos were taken after Holmes opened fire and killed 12 people during a midnight screening of The Dark Knight Rises at a suburban Denver, Colorado movie theater in 2012. The photos from his apartment show that he hopes to take more lives as well, with about 20 bombs and incendiaries littering the ground.
