That looks like a make up mirror. It magnifies an in this case focuses the rays.

However, this one was set up, why else would you have a before and after pic?

it's not before&after, they are both after - take a look on burned spot at the first picture. Second is just a closeup.

Look closer, they are both after pics. the second one is just a close up. Fooled me too, look to the left of the reflection.

These two are not before-after pics. The second one is just a zoom-in. The first already has the burned spot.
