#8 was and is correct. It is not possible to "blow up the world" with a nuclear explosion.

#9 was an accurate prediction. Computers did develop to that point, and kept progressing. He didn't say that would be the end of the line.

#12 was a reasonable statement at the time, and a pretty good pun. WU's business at the time was long-distance communications. The telephone's main "shortcoming" was that it wouldn't be able to cover even 1/2 of what WU needed until 1892, when AT&T first connected phone lines between New York and Chicago. Add to that the expense of long distance calling, and it was several more decades before Western Union had to change their business model.
