Well, oppress them and they will become criminals. The same would become of white people if they had been equally oppressed for centuries. This graph doesn't explain anything.

I don't think it's meant to explain anything, just lay out the numeric facts. The black population is massively over represented in crime figures. I guess it's about changing the cycle of violence. Black children getting educated and being taught respect by their families.

This is appallingly poor, AcidCow. Statistics tell you nothing without context. These "facts" take no account of the circumstances of crimes, crimes of social deprivation or the motivation behind attacks. (You can use the same figures quoted in this infographic to show a higher probability that black people will be assaulted by whites than vice versa.)

This would be crass at the best of times, but publishing it a few days after nine people were murdered because of the colour of their skin - it is disgusting.

Stick to cleavage shots and ripping off Reddit. When it comes to anything more complex than Kate Upton's breasts, you're obviously way out of your depth.

Why not do a graph of black on black crime compared to white on black crime.

Hope my math isn't too rusty, but, if we assume the probability of a person who is black committing a crime = the probability of a person who is white committing a crime = p, and the victim of the crime is uniformly selected from the total population, then
P(W vs B) = # of black people / (Number of people - 1)
P(B vs W) = # of white people / (Number of people - 1)

the ratio of (B vs W) / (W vs B) would simplify to
# of white people / # of black people = ~5
so, you'd expect there to be ~5 times more B vs W compared to W vs B crime.

It's completely biased.
Do the math, 6.15% of the white population is victim of violence commited by black people, and that 6.07% of the black population is victim of violences commited by white people. It's all that we can see here.
A real unbiased statistic need to also show the number of act of violence commited by white against white and black against black. Only this way we can see if, or not, black people are more violent. But I'm pretty sure that those informations aren't provided because they'll say that OP is just a racist.

Also worth noting where these statistics come from. The white supremacist websites that publish these figures claim they are from Table 42 of the Bureau of Justice Statistics National Crime Victimization Survey. Problem: there is no Table 42 in that survey -- go to bjs.gov and read it yourself.

But you can find a very nice Excel spreadsheet with these faked statistics, posted on racist websites, that they tell you they got from bjs.gov, honest, except nobody can find it there.

Perhaps the reason there's more african-american arrests/caucasian is because caucasians aren't arrested and charged and let off with warnings instead?

And this graph doesn't cite a source. It could have just been manufactured.

How, precisely?
In fact, the *most* likely crime in America is that a black assaults another black, and nobody in the media seems to care.
The NUMBER ONE cause of death for black males 15-34 is murder, and 93% of them are killed by another black man, but it's not "news" until a white guy does it.

The naked truth.

Look at it this way. If roughly 10% of the population are black and I'm a black guy who decides to mug 10 people this week, then, on average 9 of those people will be non-black. The stats will show 9 examples of black on white crime and 1 of black on black.
If however I'm a white mugger who mugs 10 a week it will show 9 examples of white on white crime (a stat not mentioned above) and just 1 example of white on black.
So look at the first two statistics shown again. 62,593 blacks were victims of white crime. That's much more than 10% of 320,082 white victims of blacks. Blacks are therefore committing less crime it seems!

What about Jew on white/black crime? The Jews were more oppressed than blacks ever were. Hitler almost killed all of them. I don't see Gangs of Jews killing people for Nike shoes. If anyone deserves to be pissed off, its the Jews!

Yeahhhh, so here is the report that these statistics are supposedly based on. Of course this infographic is complete bullsh*t. If anything, it only shows us that black people are disproportionately victimized in the US, as if that surprised anyone.

Why do we have to do statistics about black and white crimes?

There is good and bad people, it doesn't matter what color is their skin.

Look at how many people rush to defend black people committing crimes against white people simply because they are "being oppressed". Truth be told, most white people don't give a single f*ck about black people because they aren't "their people". Other than the Rachel Dolezal's of the planet, white people are happy being white, but for some reason it is now a crime to be proud of being white. You are a hatred filled, white supremacist if you claim to be proud of your white heritage. Blacks get to be proud of their heritage, latino's get to be proud of their heritage, but whites get vilified for being proud of theirs? f*ck that. It's not the oppression of the black man, it is just the white man doing what every single other race does naturally. It's plain and simple, most races take care of their own. Whites look out for whites, Asians look out for Asians, Indians look out for Indians. But do blacks look out for blacks? Very, very little. It's almost considered a crime in a white family to have a black boyfriend/girlfriend. In a black family, it is almost considered a trophy. You can hate me for being honest, you can try to do the math and skew the results all you want. You can even claim Acidcow is a bad website because they post facts that paint an ugly truth, but at the end of the day, I bet money there are certain parts of your city you don't go to at night because the chance of you getting killed increases dramatically, no matter your race. I also bet that this part of town isn't known as the white side of town, or the indian side of town or the asian side of town, either.

Lol at people who take their poor math skills and try to skew the numbers to fit their ideology. This is why white race is going extinct in a hundred years. If you look at simple percentages 0.0016% of whites were victims of black violence, and 0.0016% of blacks were victims of white violence.

Kinda throws a wrench in your suggestion that black on white violence is more prevalent than white on black when the same *very tiny* percentage of the population is effected by either.

If you check the math on the % of people who have crimes committed against them, it's 0.0016% of the population for both whites who have violent crimes committed against them by blacks and blacks who have violent crimes committed against them by whites. There is not a need to "defend" anything. A very tiny and numerically equal portion of white on black and black on white violent crime exists. It effects less than 2 tenths of 1 percent of the population.

Congratulations, you read a graph designed to make you think a certain thing and you did. You didn't bother to check the math, you didn't bother to question what you were reading, because you had preconceived idea and the data was presented in a way that fit with your opinion. Sadly, people like you make up a good portion of the population. This isn't something you should be proud of.

True, but too many people use this as crutch. It does not invalidate Occam's Razor. The explanation that has the least number of assumptions is still usually the correct one.

The problem with this info-graphic isn't one of causation or correlation. If you do some simple division you find out 0.0016% of blacks are victims of white on black violent crime and 0.0016% of whites are victims of black on white violent crime.

In other words interracial white on black and black on white crime occurs at the same very small rate in America.

Wait ... Wait ... Does anyone remember math in 4th grade -- the Probability Chapter. If you have 197 million White M&Ms and 38 million Black M&Ms in a bag, you are 5.18 times more likely to pick a White M&M (or commit a crime against). Do the math. We're all the same M&Ms people.
