Lol, the cost to change the system is NOT to replace the computer! They need to replace a 30 years old cold system. The computer is just ONE small part of it!

This sort of thing is still somewhat common even today. As I understand factories like OLIN brass still use even older hardware running windows 3.1 because you really don't need anything more powerful to preform these sort of tasks.

public sector doesn't operate on common sense. and they are so fucking wrong on the cost for computer systems, unless that total includes new pools for every one on the school board....and maybe boats.
