A man got a call this week that his friend left him something after he passed away, and his older son gave him this bag.

When he was still alive and the young man asked him if he'd brought anything home, he pursed his lips and sort of shook his head.

Whenever he'd ask him for any stories of the war, he'd say that he was at D-Day, and that he was a radioman for the artillery, but that everything else was a blur.

Hold on, what's this?

19 Man Discovers The Surprising Truth About His Dead WW2 Vet Friend (22 pics)

An American flag.

20 Man Discovers The Surprising Truth About His Dead WW2 Vet Friend (22 pics)

Why is it covered in blood? Who's blood is it?

21 Man Discovers The Surprising Truth About His Dead WW2 Vet Friend (22 pics)

Is it possible, the Nazi soldier on the photo was... the WW2 veteran? Was this stuff his? Is this why he didn't have any war stories to share? That is, until now.

I suspect that's stuff he took off someone. Maybe a German medic, except that the duty kit of the SS Medics (the little medallion in 14 is clearly SS-memorabilia) was leather from 1939...this one is dated 1934.

Could've been a spy, double agent (or triple) in this case. Who knows...

The print inside the bag is the german federal eagle. It is still on our coat of arms today. Only the eagle inside the book with the swastica on it is a nazi symbol.

Germans don't get to keep their pistols and bayonets in POW camps.

This is the most obvious clue that these are war spoils

Take them to Pawn Stars, they'll tell you that the stuff is all fake, and offer you 10 bucks for the whole package.
