Actually the best way to cut a pineapple is to remove top and bottom. Then thinly slice the outer hull and then remove the remaining hard spots in spiraling v-shaped cuts. The little spikes form a spiral around the fruit, so it's pretty easy to determine the right course. THEN split in half (or quarters if you like) like in the pictures. This way you have the least amount of waste. :04:
