clearly that's way too much. but I'd be curious to see if the child may in fact be a unrespectful bitch more interested in yolos and parties than studying and having a high sens of humility.

children these days need to be disciplined or at least have a sense of responsibility. yoloing at a young age is not acceptable for parents who work their a** of for their education. all F's on grades will make even the kindest parent go in a blind rage. i agree with doppleganger, no parent will do this unless their up to their neck with their child's bulls**t.

I say let her go. at least she is taking care of her kid.

Say what you like about her. She obviously cares about her daughter and wants better for her. Not like the many parents who couldn't care less about their kids.

"care about" and "do someone good" is not really the same. Since the kid (probably) has all grades low, it means she didn't teach her kid valuable lessons ON TIME. Making radical moves is sure a good way to "cut the ropes" permanently, and not to fix things.

The 2 pictures of the shirt on this post give the impression that she was arrested for humiliating her daughter. The mother actually was arrested for using a leather belt with metal studs to beat her. A leather belt with metal studs is not a tool of discipline. I'm all for staying out of other peoples' business and using corporal punishment with children when necessary (and this may well have been one of those cases,) but this woman assaulted her daughter with a weapon.

saying that all F's doesn't actually mean anything is like saying smoking doesn't give everyone cancer. everyone thinks they're going to be the lucky one that doesn't get it. who's to say she's going to be that person who is successful despite a report full of F's? odds aren't in her favor, in my opinion.
