This woman's BMW was sinking in the water at Waitemata Harbour in Auckland with her trapped inside. With only a few minutes left before she became completely engulfed in water, the police made an amazing rescue by smashing the rear window and pulling her out of the car.

If this ever happens to you, wait for the car to be totally underwater and once the car is full of water it will be easy to open the door. Beforehand, the pressure of the water on the door is too strong and you'll exhaust yourself. It's scary but if you're alone, it is the only way...

Car windows are incredibly hard and simply cannot be broken without something hard and pointy, preferably that gives you leverage. The side and back windows. The front screen is simply impervious to anything you coudl possibly throw at it while on the inside.
